Barna Juhász obtained his university degree at the Music Academy of Budapest, where his professors included György Konrád, György Kurtág and Ferenc Rados.

While at the Academy, he gained entrance into the Gustav Mahler International Youth Orchestra, where he first experienced playing in an orchestra conducted by Claudio Abbado.

He worked for the Symphonic Orchestra of the Hungarian Radio, then joined the Budapest Festival Orchestra. As the permanent member of the ensemble, he had the chance to play at the most famous concert halls and festivals all over the world. In the orchestra's concert series, he played several times as the chamber music partner of Zoltán Kocsis.

Furthermore, he was a constant guest musician of the Camerata Salzburg and played concerts at the Salzburg Festival.

He also takes part in the programmes of the Austrian Hungarian Haydn Orchestra, recently, he led the viola section in the Lockenhaus Festival Ensemble founded by Gidon Kremer.
